NuWay Linen RentalsWhen Shauna and Dustin were planning their wedding, finding linens for their reception was just one item on a long list of things to get done. After calling around town to several different vendors, the couple (okay, just Shauna… we all know the bride does all the planning) finally stumbled upon NuWay Linen Rentals in Paso Robles. A friendly voice at the end of the telephone line quoted her a price that would allow her to keep her arm and leg for her wedding day.

“So much goes into getting married that you don’t realize at first. We were on a tight budget, and did a lot of things on our own. It was great to find NuWay because they were so much more affordable than all of the other places we looked into. Their staff was friendly and flexible with our last minute changes,” said the new Mrs. Thompson when asked about her experience with the vendor.

The family-operated establishment has been in business since 1988, but brings over 50 years of experience to the table. NuWay services over 1,000 businesses from Santa Barbara to San Jose, as well as happy couples and other independant parties. They offer services from linen and uniform rentals to professional laundering, to custom and specialty mats and more. Visit them on the web at NuWayLinens.com or by phone at (805) 238-1501.

Victorian Pitkin Conrow EstateOnce upon a time, at the turn of the 20th century, there was a beautiful home built upon lushly landscaped grounds in the small town of Arroyo Grande. Over the years, this old home has been a small part in the lives of countless families and couples. Beautifully restored to showcase its original architectural detail and flawless foliage, this storybook setting begs for a beautiful bride in a white dress to wander through its garden with her groom.

And that is just what happens every time another happy couple decides to hold their wedding celebration at this historic house. An undeniable spectacle to those driving by, the Victorian Pitkin Conrow Estate stands out in the surrounding landscape and has been the backdrop for many blissful weddings on the Central Coast.

In the backyard garden area, a covered walkway and large gazebo are the centerpiece of a casual and elegant ceremony, where guests are seated to watch two lives become one. An easy transition to the reception area adjacent the gazebo makes the celebration flow without interruption. Seated beneath the sunshine and shaded trees, guests feel right at home in this intimate setting. A short stroll inside takes them to a newly refurbished bar area, maintained with its traditional design, for refreshments and socializing.

Happy Couple: Dustin & Shauna Thompson
Wedding Date: June 21, 2008

When Dustin finally decided to pop the question we had already been dating for five years and one day. I knew he was the man for me from the beginning. The day he asked me was unforgettable - in a good way. It was the feeling of having the man you really love finally commit to spending the rest of his life with you. So, as of March 1st, 2007, the wedding planning process started.

The hardest decision for me was choosing the date and the place. A friend told us about the Victorian Pitkin Conrow Estate in Arroyo Grande, so Dustin and I went to check it out after work one sunny day in June. Dustin walked through the path into the garden and, BAM, the words out of his mouth were, “This is perfect.” On that same day we decided to rent the facility for June 21st, 2008 because it was the longest day of the year – the first day of summer. Dustin had made the biggest decision in the wedding planning! After we had that set the rest of the planning went pretty smooth.

Fast forward to the wedding day. The girls finished getting ready just barely on time – it was already one o’clock and time for the ceremony to start! As I looked out the tinted windows I saw all of our family and friends being seated. My eyes then moved to Dustin standing in the gazebo… right then, every bit of happy emotion filled my body and came out in a stream of tears. That was by far the best feeling that I have ever experienced. The most amazing part was that at that point, and throughout the day, I felt NO stress! I had been telling myself for months to just take everything in and enjoy all of the work you put into this, and I did. The ceremony went smoothly and the reception was a blast. The best part of all was being in that moment with all of the people I love.
Our special day was more then we could have ever asked for. It would not have been possible without all of the help and love from our families and friends.
